  • BETHLEHEM, CT- 10 OCTOBER 2005-Community members of the Abbey of Regina Laudis (standing) and members of the Franciscan Sisters of the Eucharist joined together during the Monastic Burial of Lady Abbess Benedict Duss, O.S.B., at the Church of Jesu Fili Mariae located on the grounds of the Abbey of Regina Laudis.   The Lady Abbess was the foundress and first Abbess of the Abbey of Regina Laudis which began 57 years ago.<br />

  • BETHLEHEM, CT- 11 OCTOBER 2005-Sister Elizabeth Evans teaches a new born calf to feed at the Abbey of Regina Laudis' dairy. The abbey has 4 Dutch-Belted dairy cows which produce up to 100 lbs. of raw milk per day.   <br />

  • BETHLEHEM, CT- 11 OCTOBER 2005-Mother Noella Marcellino of the Abbey of Regina Laudis  looks at fungi, on a 6 day old Bethlehem Cheese, through a botany microscope. Mother Noella has won international acclaim for her cheese making. She received a doctorate in microbiology from the University of Connecticut and also was awarded a Fulbright scholarship to go to France to study native fungus strains.    <br />

Mother Noella has won international acclaim for her cheese making. She received a doctorate in microbiology from the University of Connecticut and also was awarded a Fulbright scholarship to go to France to study native fungus strains.
